Labour Party Confirms Candidate Upload for 2027 Elections

The Labour Party has officially stated that it successfully completed the upload of its presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2027 general elections by the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The party's national publicity secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, clarified that the upload was completed on July 10, 2026, four days before the INEC nomination portal closed on July 14, 2026.

Asogwa described media reports alleging that the party failed to upload its candidates as "patently false" and "misleading," urging members and the public to disregard such claims. He criticized media organizations for publishing unverified information and raised concerns about their professional responsibility.

The Labour Party expressed confidence in INEC's final list of validly nominated candidates for the upcoming elections, asserting that the public would see the names of its duly nominated candidates among various political parties. Asogwa urged the public to ignore the misleading reports and support the party as it prepares for the electoral contest.
