Lafarge Africa Plc (WAPCO) reported its Q1 2026 financial results, showing Net Sales growth of 35% year-on-year, attributed to improved volumes, enhanced plant stability, and distribution efficiency. Operating Profit reached ₦141 billion, a 97% increase, with operating margins expanding by 13 percentage points to 42%. Profit After Tax rose 101% to ₦98 billion, while Earnings Per Share also grew 101% to ₦4.42 per share. Profit Before Tax increased by 104% year-on-year.

On the operational side, the company disclosed that expansion projects at its Sagamu plant in Ogun State (3.5MTPA) and Ashaka plant in Gombe State (2MTPA) are progressing and are expected to be delivered in Q1 2027. The company currently holds an installed cement production capacity of 10.5MTPA across plants in Ogun, Gombe, and Cross River states, with Ready-Mix operations in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.

In its outlook statement, Lafarge Africa cited gradual easing of macroeconomic pressures and anticipated continued demand from Nigeria's infrastructure and construction sector. The company noted it will continue leveraging the expertise of its technical partner, Huaxin Building Materials Ltd, to drive operational improvements.
