NSCDC Rescues 28 Victims from Lagos Baby Factory

On April 15-16, 2023, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), led by Adedotun Keshinro, executed a raid in Badagry, Lagos, resulting in the rescue of 28 victims from an illegal baby factory. The operation was informed by three weeks of intelligence-driven surveillance in the area, specifically targeting a facility located on Okuju Ilado Road, Zone 1, Olorunda.

Among the rescued individuals were 17 heavily pregnant women, an adult male, and 10 children, including infants. Reports indicated that some victims had lost pregnancies due to poor health conditions within the facility.

The NSCDC recovered several items during the raid, including a pump machine, a generator set, six standing fans, two gas cylinders, a large cooking pot, five Android phones, four large mats, and assorted food items. Keshinro condemned the inhumane acts and warned individuals involved in such criminal activities to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

The victims were handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and appropriate action.
