NURTW Chieftain Murdered in Lagos, Police Warn Against Violence

Toba Ajiboye, a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), was murdered in Lagos. In response, Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani held a meeting with various transport union members on Thursday, warning them against taking the law into their own hands following the gruesome killing.

Tijani assured attendees that the police are committed to unraveling the circumstances surrounding Ajiboye's death and have already deployed adequate personnel across different parts of Lagos State to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order. He emphasized that a thorough investigation is underway and that the outcomes will be made public.

Tijani urged NURTW leadership to restrain their members from engaging in violence and assured that the police would conduct the investigation diligently and professionally, without bias. He also encouraged the public to provide credible information to assist in the investigation process.
