Lagos Resident Praises Emergency Responders for Timely Aid

Muhammad Armayau, a resident of Badagry, Lagos, commended the Lagos State Emergency Response for their prompt assistance in a medical emergency involving his 7-month-old daughter. The incident occurred on a Monday night when the child fell seriously ill during a heavy downpour, developing a high fever that persisted for two days.

As the thermometer read 38.5°C, panic ensued due to the heavy rain, which hindered transport options. Armayau and his wife attempted to reduce the fever by gently wiping their daughter with a wet towel while waiting for the rain to subside.

At 4:07 AM, Armayau called the state’s emergency toll-free line, 112, explaining the situation. Emergency response officials quickly requested nearby landmarks and confirmed that an ambulance was dispatched within twenty minutes.

By 5:07 AM, the rain had eased, and the family was informed that the ambulance was waiting at a checkpoint. They quickly rode a motorcycle to the ambulance, where medical personnel assessed the child's condition and recommended taking her to the nearest general hospital in Badagry.
