Lagos State Launches Nigeria's First Grassroots Football Initiative with UK Partnership

Lagos State has unveiled a groundbreaking partnership with Abbey Rangers Football Club from the United Kingdom to introduce Nigeria's first grassroots football program. This initiative aims to redefine local talent development by offering young athletes technical training and global exposure.

The collaboration will focus on talent development, coach capacity enhancement, sports science integration, community engagement, and more. The partnership includes a comprehensive framework spanning seven key pillars to nurture local talent effectively.

Lekan Fatodu, the Director-General of Lagos State Sport Commission, described this partnership as a landmark step towards building a sustainable sports ecosystem in Lagos.
