Terrorists Kill Soldiers and Chinese National in Kebbi

On Wednesday and Thursday, suspected Lakurawa terrorists attacked construction workers in Maiyama Local Government Area of Kebbi State, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and a Chinese national. The soldiers were providing security for the Chinese national and other workers engaged in the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway project when the attack occurred.
SP Bashir Usman, spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that the terrorists infiltrated Kebbi State from a neighboring village. The identities of the deceased soldiers were not disclosed as they were military personnel.
Usman condemned the attack as “barbaric and unwarranted” and mentioned that security agencies have initiated a manhunt for the attackers. Following the assault, troops successfully repelled an attack on a nearby military base, recovering 17 motorcycles and weapons from the terrorists, who reportedly operated in large numbers.
