Bode George: Sule Lamido Free to Contest PDP Chairmanship, Warned Against Court Action

Bode George, a former deputy national chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), announced that the party does not prohibit anyone from running for the national chairmanship position in the November 2025 election convention. Despite calls for a consensus candidate, George emphasized that Lamido has the right to contest.

However, George warned that Lamido could be punished for resorting to court action before exhausting internal party dispute resolution mechanisms. He assured that the convention would be conducted in a free and fair atmosphere.

Lamido had expressed interest in the PDP chairmanship but was denied a nomination form, prompting his threat to go to court.
