Yamal Shines as Spain Beats Saudi Arabia 4-0 in World Cup

Lamine Yamal, the 18-year-old Barcelona star, scored his first World Cup goals as Spain triumphed over Saudi Arabia 4-0 at Atlanta Stadium. Spain's coach, Luis de la Fuente, gave Yamal a starting role despite concerns about his match fitness, and he opened the scoring in the 10th minute by converting a cross from Mikel Oyarzabal.

This achievement made Yamal the second youngest Spaniard to score in a major international tournament, following Gavi at Euro 2024. Spain extended their lead with Oyarzabal scoring in the 21st minute and again three minutes later, assisted by Dani Olmo.

Yamal and Oyarzabal were substituted at halftime, but Spain continued to dominate, with Saudi Arabia's Hassan Al Tambakti inadvertently scoring an own goal in the second half. This victory placed Spain at the top of Group H with four points, as they prepare to face Uruguay in their final group fixture.
