Lana Del Rey, whose birth name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, was born on June 21, 1985, in Manhattan, New York City. She is the eldest child of Robert England Grant Jr., a former Grey Group copywriter turned entrepreneur, and Patricia Ann Hill-Grant, a former assistant account executive at Grey Group.

The family moved to Lake Placid, New York, when Lana was a baby, where her father later became a domain investor and founded an international network of over 8,000 specialty websites. Lana's sister, Caroline "Chuck" Grant, born on November 19, 1987, is a professional photographer based in Los Angeles and has shot some of Lana's iconic album covers.
