Barcelona Extends La Liga Lead with Late Goals

FC Barcelona achieved a significant 14-point lead in the La Liga title race following a 2-1 victory against a determined host team at El Sadar Stadium. The match saw Barcelona nearly fall behind when Ant Budimir hit the post.

However, they took control in the second half, creating several chances. Robert Lewandowski scored the first goal with a header from a pinpoint cross by Marcus Rashford in the 81st minute.

Just five minutes later, Barcelona doubled their lead, placing the ball in the bottom far corner. Raul Garcia's header provided a nervy finish to the encounter, but Barcelona ultimately held on to claim all three points.

This victory marked their 10th consecutive league win, a feat not achieved since 2016, bringing their total points to 88 after 34 matches and extending their lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid, who failed to secure a victory in their fixture against Espanyol.
