Lawyer Criticizes Nnamdi Kanu's Decision to Drop Defense in Terror Trial

Human rights lawyer Effiong criticizes Nnamdi Kanu's decision to abandon his defense in the ongoing terror trial, stating it is a risky move. Kanu, the self-styled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), informed the Federal High Court in Abuja that he will no longer present a defense.

Effiong points out that while Kanu's decision does not imply guilt, it allows the prosecution's evidence to go unchallenged. The court will now determine if the prosecution has met its burden of proof.

The trial has been adjourned until October 27.
