Leaders Urged to Emulate Yar'Adua's Leadership Virtues

During the third Umaru Musa Yar'Adua International Leadership Award ceremony held in Abuja, leaders from various sectors were urged to emulate the leadership virtues of former President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. Prof.

Roland Otaru, the Attorney General of Edo State, emphasized Yar'Adua's transparency, integrity, and simple lifestyle as exemplary traits for leaders to follow. He described Yar'Adua as a resilient leader who believed in uniting the country and promoting religious tolerance among Nigeria's diverse ethnic groups.

Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, noted that Yar'Adua, although he did not serve long enough to accomplish his vision, was a dedicated servant leader characterized by honesty and humility.

Dr. Phil Okonkwo remarked on Yar'Adua's disciplined approach to leadership, which was marked by restraint and adherence to the rule of law.

The event also recognized individuals and institutions that have positively shaped society through visionary leadership and selfless service.
