99-Year-Old Woman Appeals to Tinubu to See Nnamdi Kanu

Sarah Nwanyisundai Oparaocha, a 99-year-old woman from Afaraukwu in Abia State, made an emotional appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to facilitate her meeting with Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, who is currently detained. During a community gathering, she expressed her deep sorrow and pain over Kanu's continued detention, stating that it has brought sorrow to families in Afaraukwu.

Oparaocha, who spoke in Igbo, used proverbs to convey her feelings and emphasized her daily prayers for Kanu's freedom. She noted that she will soon turn 100 years old and wishes to see Kanu before her time comes.

Oparaocha urged the Nigerian government to consider Kanu's release for the sake of peace and unity. Her plea was directed specifically at President Tinubu, whom she believes has the power to intervene in this political issue.
