Nigerian Governors Sack Civil Servants Over Misconduct in September

Several Nigerian governors took decisive actions against erring civil servants in September. Three governors exercised their constitutional power to sack civil servants for misconduct.

In Bauchi, six senior civil servants were dismissed for manipulating the payroll system. Additionally, a teacher in Bauchi, Emos Joshua, was sacked over sexual harassment allegations.

The state Civil Service Commission conducted detailed investigations before taking these actions. The affected officers were found guilty after internal audits and administrative inquiries.

The move aimed to uphold the code of conduct in the Civil Service Commission Act.
