This season's performance marked the club's lowest points tally since the 2015-16 campaign, finishing 25 points behind champions Arsenal.

The decision to part ways with Slot was described as difficult, with the club acknowledging his contributions and work ethic. Liverpool's owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), expressed appreciation for Slot's achievements and emphasized the importance of leadership in the team.

Following Slot's departure, Liverpool has approached former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola to discuss the head coach role, despite having qualified for next season's Champions League.
