Lookman Leads Atletico Against Spurs in UCL Clash

Ademola Lookman will confront Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday when Atletico Madrid hosts them in the UEFA Champions League last-16 first leg at Wanda Metropolitano, Madrid. Lookman, a forward for the Super Eagles, has had a remarkable start to his career at Atletico after joining from Atalanta in January 2023 for £35 million.

He has scored four goals and provided two assists in his first six starts under coach Diego Simeone. In contrast, Tottenham arrives in Madrid struggling with five consecutive losses across competitions, sitting just above the Premier League relegation zone.

They recently suffered a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, extending their winless streak to 11 league games. Atletico Madrid, however, finished fourth in the Champions League group stage with five wins, including a notable 2-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund.

Lookman aims to help Atletico maintain their pursuit of a second major European trophy in three years.
