LOTUS Bank Partners with REA for Renewable Energy Access

LOTUS Bank has entered into a strategic partnership with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to improve access to renewable energy solutions across underserved communities in Nigeria. This collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in Abuja.

The partnership aims to provide access to N100 billion in funding, empowering certified renewable energy service companies (RESCOs). Dr.

Isiaka Ajani Lawal, Managing Director and CEO of LOTUS Bank, emphasized that this collaboration reflects the bank's mission to address critical financing needs for national development. He noted that LOTUS Bank aims to redefine the impact of financial institutions in society, moving beyond traditional financing to empower communities.

Abba Abubakar Aliyu, Managing Director and CEO of REA, highlighted the importance of addressing financial barriers to off-grid energy development in Nigeria. The partnership is expected to stimulate private sector investment and support Nigeria's national electrification strategy, contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7) for affordable and reliable clean energy.
