LPPC Opens 2027 SAN Applications with New Fees

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has announced the opening of applications for the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria for 2027. A non-refundable processing fee of N5 million is required for private legal practitioners, while government-employed lawyers must pay N2.5 million.
The application portal will be accessible starting November 1, 2026, at midnight, and all procedures must be completed online via the LPPC's official website, www.lppconline.com. Applicants must pay the fees into designated accounts with Zenith Bank or Guaranty Trust Bank and upload proof of payment for verification.
The deadline for online applications is set for January 31, 2027, and all required documents must be submitted by February 1, 2027. Applications that do not comply with guidelines or are submitted late will be rejected.
The announcement follows a special session of the Supreme Court on October 12, 2026, where 67 advocates and one academic, Professor Nnamdi Onyeka Obiaraeri, were conferred with the rank.
