LSSTF Distributes Sports Equipment to 57 LGAs in Lagos

The Lagos State Sports Trust Fund (LSSTF) has advanced its grassroots sports development initiative by distributing sporting equipment to all 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State. This distribution occurred on Tuesday at the BOS Hall, Lagos Television Broadcasting Complex, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

The equipment included facilities for various sports such as table tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, and athletics, with each LG/LCDA receiving a complete set. Enitan Oshodi, Chairman of the LSSTF, stated that the initiative aims to revive grassroots competitions and foster young talent development.

Mobolaji Ogunlende, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, representing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, encouraged LGs and LCDAs to utilize the equipment to promote healthy competition and discover future sports stars. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Lagos State Government to strengthen grassroots sports, following a previous distribution of equipment to 1,020 public primary schools and the rehabilitation of Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba.
