West Ham Legend Ludek Miklosko Dies at 64

Ludek Miklosko, a legendary former goalkeeper for West Ham United, has passed away at the age of 64 following a battle with cancer. Diagnosed in 2021, Miklosko had publicly shared his decision to withdraw from treatment two years prior.

His death was confirmed by West Ham United, where he is remembered as a deeply respected figure. Miklosko joined West Ham from Banik Ostrava in 1990 and made over 300 appearances for the club during his two spells until 1998.

He played a crucial role in the club’s promotion campaigns in 1991 and 1993, fostering a strong bond with supporters. After retiring, he returned to West Ham as a goalkeeping coach, further solidifying his connection with the club.

West Ham described him as a “legendary former goalkeeper and coach,” paying tribute to his character and contributions. His son, Martin Miklosko, confirmed the family’s loss, stating they are “heartbroken” while reflecting on his father's courageous battle with cancer and the support received from the football community.
