Abdulaziz Malami and Wife Granted N500m Bail in Money Laundering Trial

The trial of Abdulaziz Malami, son of ex-Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and his wife, Asab Bashir, began with a N500 million bail granted by Justice Emeka Nwite. The couple faces 16 counts of money laundering, allegedly involving concealing over N1 billion in Nigerian and US accounts.

The court ordered two sureties to provide land properties for bail. Malami was also directed to deposit his travel documents and remanded in the Nigerian Correctional Service pending bail conditions.

The charges span from July 2022 to June 2025.
