Mbeumo described Bassey as a strong and reliable central defender for Fulham, known for his pace and ability to read the game, making it extremely difficult for attackers to beat him.

In a recent appearance, Mbeumo openly acknowledged the challenges he faced against Bassey, emphasizing the defender's physical power and defensive intelligence. This recognition is not the first for Bassey, as Erling Haaland, the goal machine for Manchester City, also praised him earlier, noting the physical battles players encounter in the Premier League compared to the Bundesliga.

Haaland highlighted the intensity of the matches, particularly referencing a high-scoring game that ended 5-4 in favor of Manchester City, where Bassey's defensive skills were on full display.
