Nigerian Soldiers Reportedly Kill Protesting Women in Lamurdi, Raising Security Concerns

In Lamurdi Local Government Area, Nigerian soldiers allegedly shot and killed at least nine people, including five women, during a protest against the government's failure to protect residents from repeated attacks by unknown assailants. The violent clash erupted when the military attempted to disperse the peaceful protest, leading to live ammunition being fired into the crowd.

Several villages, including Tigno, Suwa, Balaifi, Wami 1, Wami 2, and Waduku, were affected by the unrest. The actual death toll may be higher, with many residents fleeing for safety amid fears of further violence.

Neither the Nigerian Army nor the Adamawa State Government has issued an official statement on the incident, leaving Lamurdi in a state of insecurity.
