Family Outraged Over Pardon for Maryam Sanda in Murder Case

The late husband's family of Bilyaminu Ahm Bello has condemned the recent pardon granted to Maryam Sanda, who was on death row for murdering Bello. The pardon, announced by President Bola Tinubu, reopened wounds for the family.

Sanda was convicted in January 2020, with the Supreme Court upholding the death sentence in December 2020. The family described the pardon as the worst possible injustice, causing immense pain and preventing closure for them.
