Maryland Resends Mail-In Ballots Due to Vendor Error

The Maryland State Board of Elections announced that it will resend thousands of mail-in ballots to voters ahead of the primary election scheduled for June 23. This decision follows an error attributed to a ballot vendor, which resulted in residents receiving incorrect ballots.

The exact number of affected voters is currently undetermined, but the issue involves individuals who requested mail ballots. The State Board of Elections confirmed that the integrity and security of mail voting will be maintained, and voters will be directly notified about the replacement ballots.

Jare Demarini, the Maryland State Administrator of Elections, stated that the agency is working to resolve the issue and restore public confidence, as approximately 500,000 voters have requested mail ballots. The board aims to eliminate any doubts regarding the integrity and accuracy of the election process.
