Mbah Praises Enugu Zoning Arrangement at Book Launch

On the occasion of the unveiling of a book titled "Zone Governorship Position Enugu State: Evolution, Practice, and Convention 1999-2023," Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State, commended the governorship zoning arrangement that has been in place since 1999. He described this arrangement as a major factor contributing to peace, inclusivity, and political stability in the state since the return to democracy in 1999.

The event featured contributions from four media experts and public analysts: Uchenna Aniok, Ambros Igbok, Clinton Umeh, and Chikezi Obasi. Malachi Agbo represented the commission at the event.

Mbah acknowledged the support of former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in the power transfer process among the zones. Lawrence Agubuzu, the former chairman of the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, emphasized the importance of the rotational arrangement among the three senatorial districts to ensure harmony and prevent political conflict.

The book aims to provide an objective account of the zoning arrangement's evolution over the years.
