Kylian Mbappe, the captain of the French national team, sustained a hamstring injury during a La Liga match against Real Betis on Friday, April 27. He was replaced in the 81st minute, and subsequent tests confirmed a muscle problem, leaving Real Madrid anxious about his recovery ahead of the crucial El Clasico against Barcelona scheduled for May 10.

Currently, Real Madrid sits second in La Liga, 11 points behind leaders Barcelona, with only five matches remaining in the season, making the title race increasingly difficult. Additionally, Real Madrid recently faced a setback by being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich, raising the prospect of ending the campaign without silverware.

Mbappe has been a key player for the team, delivering 41 goals in 41 matches across all competitions this season, including 24 in La Liga and 15 in Europe. The 27-year-old is expected to lead France in the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico starting June 11.
