Femi Azeez Shines on Super Eagles Debut with Brace

Femi Azeez debuted for the Super Eagles on a Tuesday night, scoring a brace to lead Nigeria to a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe, securing a spot in the final of the 2026 United Cup. The 24-year-old forward, invited by coach Eric Chell, made an immediate impact, becoming the first Nigerian millennium player to score two goals on debut.

Azeez's first goal came within five minutes, followed by a second-half goal assisted by Terem Moffi. He reflected on his performance, stating that the management allowed the players freedom to express themselves.

Azeez, born in England to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother, began his football journey at age nine after being released from Watford's youth system. He has had a successful season with Millwall, recording 11 goals and seven assists in 37 Championship games.

His younger brother, Miguel Azeez, plays in midfield for Morecambe and began his career at Arsenal.
