Unilever Appoints Uchenna Nwakanma as New Executive Director for Africa Operations

Unilever has named Uchenna Nwakanma as its new Executive Director, starting from November 13, 2025. Nwakanma, an industrial chemist with an MBA and a member of the Charter Institute of Chemist Nigeria, has a strong background in research and development, business leadership, and innovation in the consumer goods sector spanning two decades across Africa.

He has previously held key roles at Unilever in the personal care category and has a proven track record of driving high-impact innovations while ensuring regulatory compliance. Nwakanma is also known for his advocacy for sustainable manufacturing and local value creation, as well as his contributions to talent development in Nigeria's manufacturing ecosystem.
