Carrick Praises Youth Policy as Manchester United Thrives

Michael Carrick, who took over as caretaker head coach of Manchester United after Ruben Amorim last month, has overseen a strong start for the team, achieving five Premier League matches with a total of 13 points, placing the club in fourth position. In an interview with Mark Chapman for BBC's new series, Carrick expressed his determination to uphold Manchester United's long-standing tradition of fielding academy players.

He highlighted 20-year-old Kobbi Mainoo, an academy graduate, who had not featured regularly under Amorim but has become a key player under Carrick's leadership. Carrick praised his backroom staff, including Steve Holland, Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans, and Travi Binnion, for their experience and balance in youth development and first-team coaching.

His contract runs until the end of the season, and he has not committed to a longer-term role, focusing instead on achieving success for the team.
