Military Pension Board Warns Retirees of Fraudsters

The Military Pension Board has issued a fraud alert to retirees, cautioning them against individuals posing as official agents of the pension system who are attempting to obtain confidential financial information. Squadron Leader Aliyu Moham, representing the board, reported that these fraudulent individuals are targeting retirees to acquire sensitive data such as bank verification numbers, national identification numbers, bank account details, and ATM card information.

The board strongly advises pensioners to avoid engaging with unauthorized persons or platforms requesting such information. It clarifies that it does not authorize third parties to collect personal bank information for processing pension loans or benefits.

The board urges pension families to remain vigilant and report any suspicious requests for information to the appropriate authorities, treating unofficial sources with caution.
