Minister Launches South East Zonal Radiographers Board

On Thursday, Dr. Iziak Adekunl Salako, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, commissioned the South East Zonal Radiographers Board in Enugu.

He highlighted the Federal Government's commitment to elevating the standards of radiography practice and patient care across Nigeria as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Dr.

Salako stressed the importance of regulatory bodies in enforcing compliance with standards to ensure quality healthcare delivery, noting that without proper regulation, quackery could thrive, compromising patient outcomes. He urged the profession to expand licensing coverage and maintain high ethical standards and safety protocols to minimize risks.

The Minister also emphasized the need for radiographers to utilize digital platforms to enhance regulatory services and reach underserved areas. He expressed hope that the newly commissioned zonal office would improve access to licensing compliance and professional development for practitioners in the southeast and neighboring regions.
