Matawalle to Welcome Governor Lawal in Gusau Reception

Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, is scheduled to visit Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, on Monday ahead of a formal reception for Governor Dauda Lawal. This reception is part of a grand ceremony organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to welcome Lawal, who recently defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The event will also feature Vice President Kashim Shettima, who will lead the reception ceremony on Tuesday at the Trade Fair Complex in Gusau. Ahmad Dan Wudil, Matawalle's media aide, confirmed the minister's plans in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday.

Dan Wudil described Lawal's defection as a significant political realignment, signaling a return to the APC's fold in Zamfara State. The event is expected to rally stakeholders around the APC and mark a progressive step for the party in the region.
