Tinubu's Road Initiative: 5,500km Infrastructure Project Launched

On October 13, David Umahi, the Minister of Works, announced that President Bola Tinubu is executing a nationwide road construction program covering 5,500 kilometers. This announcement was made during the flag-off of the reconstruction and dualisation of the Lambata-Bida-Mokwa-Makera-Kontagora Federal Highway in Bida, Niger State.
The project is part of Tinubu's infrastructure development initiative to improve road connectivity, facilitate trade, and promote economic growth. Umahi described the highway as a potential fifth legacy project of the Tinubu administration, emphasizing its reinforced concrete pavement and the involvement of the Dangote Group through the Federal Government’s infrastructure tax-credit scheme.
He noted that 162 kilometers of roads and 115 meters of bridges have already been completed in the North-Central region. Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago praised the project for enhancing transportation and economic activities, while also committing to support Tinubu's administration in future elections.
