Mohamed Salah Honors Ahmed Hegazi's Retirement

Mohamed Salah made an emotional tribute to his former Egypt teammate Ahmed Hegazi, who announced his retirement from professional soccer at the age of 35 on Monday morning. Hegazi, who has had a distinguished 15-year career, played for clubs including Ismaily, Al Ahly in Egypt, Fiorentina, and Perugia in Italy, West Bromwich Albion in England, and most recently Neom in Saudi Arabia.

Salah expressed his sentiments on social media, sharing numerous photos from their time together in the Egyptian national squad and reflecting on their childhood friendship. He wrote, “A long journey we have lived together since our childhood.

We enjoyed and were happy with every stage of it. I wish you success in what is to come.” Hegazi stated that while he is retiring from playing, his passion for soccer remains strong, emphasizing that his journey with football will continue with the same ambition and determination.
