DHQ Links Oyo Kidnapping to Dislodged Terrorists

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed that the recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State was executed by dislodged members of the Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati Wal-Jihad terrorist group. Major General Michael Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, described the comments surrounding the incident as misleading and emphasized that these terrorists are classified as criminal elements operating in the southwest.

The statement from the DHQ follows intensified military operations aimed at countering insurgency across the country. The situation has raised fresh concerns regarding the movement of insurgent elements beyond the northeastern region of Nigeria, as military offensives continue.
