Wike Defends Rainbow Coalition, Criticizes APC Governors

Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has drawn fresh political lines ahead of the 2027 elections by defending the Rainbow Coalition. He accused certain governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) of pursuing their own political interests rather than collective goals.

Wike stated that his primary focus is to secure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu while permitting politicians to support their preferred candidates in other elections. He expressed strong opposition to the idea of Hope Uzodimma becoming the Senate President, declaring, “Life or death, I will never support a character of Hope Uzodimma to be the Senate President of Nigeria.” This statement underscores the growing political tensions as the country approaches the upcoming elections.
