Mortuary Attendant Arrested for Organ Harvesting Sparks Outrage in Upper Sakponba

A mortuary attendant was apprehended in Upper Sakponba, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, for allegedly harvesting organs from corpses stored at Akugb Mortuary. The incident sparked outrage among the deceased's relatives, who accused the attendant of engaging in ritual practices.

The suspect was rescued from a potential lynching by the police and is currently detained for investigation. The governor ordered the demolition of the mortuary due to the unhygienic conditions.

The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) is conducting further inquiries.
