MTN Foundation Receives 20,983 Nominations for Health Initiative

The MTN Foundation has received 20,983 nominations for public primary healthcare centres and secondary schools as part of the sixth phase of its What Can We Do Together (WCWDT) initiative, following a call for nominations in May 2026. The deadline for submissions was extended to June 22.

After closing nominations, the Foundation completed physical verification of 149 facilities, which included 113 public primary healthcare centres and 36 public secondary schools. This verification involved on-site assessments to evaluate ownership, accessibility, existing infrastructure, and suitability for rehabilitation or upgrading.

The programme is now in the selection stage, where facilities meeting the criteria will be chosen for intervention. The Foundation aims to revitalize 40 public primary healthcare centres and renovate and equip 15 public secondary school science laboratories across Nigeria.

Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, stated that the initiative is designed to enhance access to essential healthcare services and improve facilities for practical science education.
