MTN Group restructures as Toriola earns expanded role

MTN Group announced a restructuring plan that includes expanding the role of Karl Toriola, the CEO of MTN Nigeria. Effective from November 1, 2025, Toriola will serve as the Vice President of Francophone Africa in addition to his current role.

This move is part of MTN's strategic efforts to deepen its market share and accelerate digital inclusion across various African countries. Toriola's appointment is seen as a clear signal of MTN Group's confidence in Nigerian leadership talent and the pivotal role Nigeria plays in the company's success.

The restructuring aims to support the execution of the Ambition 2025 strategy, focusing on unlocking value through three main platforms: Connectivity, Fintech, and Digital Infrastructure. MTN Group President and CEO, Ralph Mupita, emphasized the wealth of talent and experience within the company to drive growth and transformation.

The restructuring is also in line with MTN's goal of streamlining operations and creating greater value for stakeholders.
