MTN Nigeria Resumes Dividend Payments in 2022, Marks Major Comeback

MTN Nigeria Plc, the largest telecommunications company in Africa's most populous nation, will pay an interim dividend of N5 per 2 kobo ordinary share in 2022, amounting to approximately N104.95 billion to shareholders. This move marks a major shift as the company had suspended dividends in 2023 due to challenges like foreign exchange losses and currency devaluation.

Under the leadership of Karl Toriola, the company has seen a remarkable turnaround, with a net profit of N750.2 billion in the first nine months of 2025, representing a significant rebound from previous losses. The company's performance has been driven by robust data growth, fintech expansion, and macroeconomic stability.
