N-HYPPADEC Addresses Water Scarcity in Nasarawa with Solar-Powered Boreholes

The Nation Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) is implementing projects in Nasarawa State to combat water scarcity, including the construction of 26 solar-powered boreholes in vulnerable communities. Additionally, the commission is improving educational infrastructure by building classrooms in schools across several local government areas.

N-HYPPADEC is also supporting agriculture by procuring power tillers for distribution to agricultural cooperatives. Furthermore, efforts are underway to mitigate flood risks through desilting and evacuating drainage channels.

These initiatives aim to promote socio-economic development and address critical water scarcity challenges in the region.
