NAICOM Approves Ademoye Shobo as Lasaco Assurance CEO

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has officially approved the appointment of Ademoye Shobo as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lasaco Assurance Plc, with the effective date set for February 6, 2026. This announcement was made through a disclosure statement issued on Tuesday, signed by the company's secretary, Gertrud Olutekunbi.

Shobo's appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Razzaq Abiodun, who stepped down on November 6, 2025.

Shobo has extensive experience in insurance operations and strategic management, having joined Lasaco Assurance in 1993 in the audit department. He rose through the ranks to become the Managing Director and CEO in 2025.

Shobo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Lagos State University (1988) and a Master of Business Administration from Nasarawa State University (2023). He became an associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria in 1998 and has held several leadership roles within the company.
