NAICOM Partners with Police for NIIRA 2025 Implementation

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) is actively collaborating with the Nigerian Police Force and other relevant institutions to ensure the full implementation of the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025. This initiative aims to protect the interests of the insurance public, combat fraudulent activities, and eliminate fake insurance institutions.

Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, the current Commissioner for Insurance, met with the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, to discuss strategies for deepening collaboration in the implementation of NIIRA 2025.

Omosehin emphasized that the act will modernize Nigeria's insurance landscape, promote transparency, and safeguard the financial security of millions of Nigerians relying on insurance. He noted that NAICOM cannot achieve full compliance and market discipline without the active support of law enforcement agencies.

IGP Disu reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to partner with NAICOM to provide the necessary operational and legal backing to ensure that offenders are brought to justice and policyholders' rights are fully protected.
