Nigerian Naira Gains Over N100 Against US Dollar in 2025

The Nigerian Naira appreciated by over N100 against the US Dollar in 2025, closing at N1,435.75 per dollar compared to N1,541.36 at the beginning of the year. This gain was attributed to improved external reserves, ongoing policy reforms, and enhanced market liquidity.

Muda Yusuf, CEO of the Centre for Promoting Private Enterprise (CPPE), praised the exchange rate stability achieved in 2025, leading to increased confidence, reduced import inflation pressures, and favorable conditions for investments. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) projected a stable macroeconomic outlook for 2026 based on the impact of implemented reforms.
