NANS Calls for Nationwide Protests Demanding Nnamdi Kanu's Release

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has declared a nationwide protest demanding the release of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Scheduled for October 20, 2025, students across the country will converge in Abuja to press for justice and civil rights.

The protests aim to ensure Kanu's freedom following renewed agitation and court judgments declaring his detention unlawful. NANS President Atiku Isah announced the plan after a meeting of the association's leadership, calling for student participation from various regions.

Logistics and transportation arrangements have been made to facilitate the protests.
