NAPTIP Rescues Trafficking Victims Bound for Iraq in Kano Operation

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) conducted a successful operation in Kano, rescuing trafficking victims en route to Iraq. The victims, aged between 21 and 24, were being trafficked from the southern part of Nigeria through Kano as a transit point to Baghdad, Iraq, for labor exploitation.

During the operation, two suspects were apprehended, and investigations led to the discovery of a trafficking network. The victims disclosed that a woman, identified as the prime suspect, was sponsoring their trafficking in connivance with a man who is currently at large.

The victims were rescued and are now in NAPTIP's custody in Kano, receiving counseling and rehabilitation. The agency is committed to dismantling the trafficking network and urges the public to report any suspicious activities.
