Nathaniel Idowu U-14 Football League Enlivens Ajegunle with Exciting Matches and Youth Development Initiatives

The Nathaniel Idowu U-14 Football League recently debuted at the Nathaniel Idowu Pitch in Oregi, Ajegunle, Lagos, with an opening weekend filled with excitement. The league, organized by the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation and supported by the Ajeromi Ifelodun Sport Council, featured 12 teams competing in matches that delivered a total of 21 goals across six games.

Teams like Fortun FC, Divine Bless FC, Strong Dove FC, Michael Mai FC, Pure Talent FC, and others showcased their skills, with notable victories and draws. The league will run for 11 weeks, culminating in a Super 4 playoff where the top four teams will compete for the championship title. The initiative aims to promote youth development and revive Ajegunle's rich sports heritage, particularly in football.

Prizes totaling N1.1 million will be awarded to the top-performing teams, with the champion receiving N500,000. Additionally, a girls' development program called "Let's Play" will be launched to provide opportunities for secondary school girls to train and compete in football at the new Maracana Stadium.
