Edo Disqualified, Abia Upgraded to Bronze in National Youth Games Rugby Sevens

The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) announced the disqualification of Edo State from the Boys' Rugby Sevens event at the 2025 National Youth Games due to fielding an ineligible player. As a result, Abia State was upgraded to the Bronze Medal position.

Despite Edo's breach, they initially won the Bronze Final against Abia State. However, following the disqualification, the NRFF reallocated the Bronze Medal to Abia State.

This decision aligns with World Rugby regulations and Olympic precedents. The NRFF emphasized the importance of upholding eligibility rules in sports competitions to ensure fairness and integrity.

Kano State and Delta State retained their positions as Gold and Silver medalists, respectively.
